樂曲解說：
此首作品是以英國詩人 Thomas Stearns Eliot (1888-1965)的詩作 Moring at the Window 為歌詞與題材，所譜寫的新音樂作品，藉由詩人在窗口觀望街道上的景象，傳達一種冷眼看人世的感覺。音樂對於歌詞的詮釋上，則藉由混著時而冷靜、時而激昂的音樂來傳達旁觀者內心壓抑的情感與表面的冷漠。聲樂的部分除了歌詞的演唱之外，也配合整體音響上的考量，演唱非屬於歌詞的長音。長笛則在吹奏時加入耳語的部分，唸出詩詞中的關鍵意象，如 trampled edges, damp souls, twisted faces, aimless smile等，藉以強調之，並與聲樂的部分相回應。

They are rattling breakfast plates in basement kitchens,
And along the trampled edges of the street
I am aware of the damp souls of housemaids
Sprouting despondently at area gates.
The brown waves of fog toss up to me
Twisted faces from the bottom of the street,
And tear from a passer-by with muddy skirts
An aimless smile that hovers in the air
And vanishes along the level of the roofs.
